A high percentage of Australian and New Zealand military imposters falsely pretend that they were a member of an elite fighting force. Army Special Air Service Regiment, Fighter pilots or Navy Clearance Divers in active war zones, come to mind.

Michael Morgan, also known as Migz Rodriguez has been falsely claiming to be a Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Clearance Diver for many years.

Morgan is a Tattooist, and was employed by a Tattoo Parlour in Brisbane. He told his employers as well as patrons, that he had been a member of the RAN Clearance Diving Team (RANCDT) with active service in Afghanistan. He also boasted his RANCDT service to members of Australian Sons SMC, a motor cycle club he was a member of.

In the above photograph, Morgan is wearing the following.

1. The Australian Active Service Medal with clasp. Not entitled
2. Afghanistan Medal. Not entitled.
3. Australian Overseas Service Medal – Greater Middle East. Not Entitled.
4. Australian Defence Medal. Not entitled.

Above his un-entitled medal rack he is wearing what appears to be a RAN Principal Warfare Officer Badge. (PWO) - Not entitled.

He also wears an Australian Army polyester shirt with the rising sun patch on his left shoulder. - Not entitled.

Morgan was not awarded any of the medals or PWO Badge. He was never a member of the Australian Defence Force. (ADF). He is projecting a façade that he was or is, a member of the ADF with Afghanistan active service. He has committed offences against the Defence Act 1903, Sections 80A and 80B.

Falsely representing himself to being a returned soldier, sailor or airman, and also wearing service decorations and medals that have not been awarded to him. Defence Act 1903 Sections 80A and 80B.- $3,300 dollar fine and/or 6 months imprisonment, each offence.

Morgan also placed posts on Facebook that indicated that he was a member of the RANCDT 1/TAG (e) Division. That information is also false.

He also posted the below medals on Facebook claiming that they were awarded to him. They are out of proper sequence, however he received quite a few likes and a multitude of ANZAC Day congratulations for that one !!

Morgan was reported to ANZMI by concerned former RANCDT personnel and others, who have had enough of these imposters stealing their honour. The RANCDT is equal to the SASR and their New Zealand counterparts, with unique service to their respective countries. It takes a lot of skill and courage to be accepted into these specialised Units. Morgan has neither.

Morgan aka Rodriguez should publicly apologise for his fraudulent behavior.

The ANZMI site has numerous military imposters claiming former Clearance Diver service. The below link will take you to another classic fraud - Kurt Ronald Southam. He has featured on our site for some time and will continue to do so. These clowns just keep turning up, and in this particular case, when exposed as liars and valour thieves, threaten legal action.
