GRAHAM JOHN KENNA

Recently a person using the name
Graham John Kenna, DOB 15 December 1948, has been posing as
and preying on Viet Nam Veterans and their ESO claiming he is
broke and in need of assistance.
He was recently in the Hervey Bay
[Queensland] area accompanied by a woman named Helen. He used
the resources of the local VVAA claiming that he was suffering
PTSD and had received severe injuries in the chest and legs from
shrapnel wounds from a rocket attack in 1968.
He knows all the right talk and the
sequence in which to use it. He is not on the Viet Nam Veterans
Nominal Roll nor can a service record be located for this man. He
doesn’t appear on the records of the DVA as having any claims in
the system.
Whilst at Hervey Bay his convincing
stories of being broke and not knowing what to do next saw
Veterans there lend this man over $500, again showing the
compassion of Veterans for a supposed brother. If you know of
this person’s whereabouts please contact your local police and
then the Hervey Bay RSL urgently.
His travelling companion is a woman
named Helen. At this stage it is not know which direction this
person and his companion, who he claims is his fourth wife, may be
travelling but as more information comes to hand it will be posted
here.
He is in possession of a DVA
claim form that is ready for submission. Be careful as he may try
to lodge this claim through you.
Please regularly check this area as

20:00hr est: Information just to hand indicates
that this person may now be in the Maryborough area. He was
sighted in the Maryborough RSL club over the weekend 14 - 15 JUN
2003 and it is believed that he is heading north. His
vehicle type, colour and registration will be posted soon.

person and/or his whereabouts you can use the email contact below
to submit this information to the site. We would especially be
interested in a photograph of him.

June 2003, 19:08hr est: Kenna is driving a white Magna
sedan, Queensland registration number 162 GQN
His description is as follows:
Approximately 185cm [6 foot] tall,
medium build, clean cut, salt and pepper hair with a moustache.
Last known address:
Huntsville Caravan Park,
Maryborough, Queensland.

2003, 19:05hr est: This update is the recollection of a
Vet on meeting Kenna.
"I ran into this character, Graham
Kenna, one Thursday Night at the raffles at the Hervey Bay Boat
Club.
I was reading a book by somebody in
Vietnam. When he saw it he started talking about his tour.
He looked too young to be a vet.
*The story was that he went to Vietnam
with 106 Fd Bty but did not spend any time with the Bty as he
spent his tour with CIA working in the Mekong Delta. No Roll
books. DVA will not
accept his claims as he has no proof that he was there.
He has read a lot of books because he must have been in country
for about 7 years to cover all the things that he did.
Living with a partner as he had
trouble with all his other wives and partners. He had
just moved down to Hervey Bay from Rockhampton. His is
a big fan of XXXXX XXXXX in Rocky. Knew all about the
RSL and was a leading member of the VVA Federation.
But still no DVA Pension. I thought he was going to
ask me to be a reference for him till I had had enough of the
stories and we moved tables. I did ring a couple of
the RSL's but nothing happened."

above is the typical response of a bogus Veteran and even some
genuine Veterans who have embellished their service. He is but
another fool that doesn’t realize that the 30 year secrecy act is
over and all Military Records of the Viet Nam war are now in the
public forum making it is easy to obtain information on anyones
service. This also includes any so called “secret” service.
No one served in
Viet Nam
[from Australia and New Zealand] without a record of service.
Keep watching the pages of ANZMI and you will see a couple of
villains who claim that their records have been “lost” by the
Military. They will appear on the pages soon. If anyone has
a photograph of Mr Kenna please scan it and send to ANZMI via our
file area.

Thursday 25 Oct 2007 20:14hr EST This
latest update is from a reader of this site who has reported
that Kenna is now in the Anglesea area on the Surf Coast in
Victoria where he apparently owns and operates a cleaning
business, their current address is Church St Breakwater Vic
3219. Kenna is still claiming service in Vietnam and has
befriended a Veteran in the area.
Any further reports on Kenna would be appreciated
so they can be passed to the relevant Authorities.
