Danny Bayliss
A good percentage of the frauds, fakers and wannabes
featured on our "Cases" pages have honourable, if
undistinguished, genuine military service. Instead of being
proud of this service, they have heavily embellished it or
created a whole new fraudulent history for themselves. Danny Bayliss is another one of these who claims unearned
status and qualifications. Read his story

Anthony George

31 Oct 2007 |
The 8th King's Royal Irish
Hussars was first raised as Henry Conyngham's Regiment of
Dragoons in Ireland in 1693. It saw service for three
centuries, including service in Korea in 1950 - 1951. The
warriors from this ancient, fierce unit are displeased with
Anthony George Bees who has brought
discredit to their illustrious history. The United Kingdom
Korean Veterans Association, the Australian Korean Veterans
Association and veterans generally are disgusted at the
contemptuous behaviour of this ex British soldier who says he
served in Korea with The 8th Kings Royal Irish Hussars then was
a Special Forces hero who was awarded an MM and Bar for his part
in quelling the savage Mau Mau uprising in Kenya during the
1950s

HALIM [Sam] Asim

Asim (Sam)
Halim the recently sacked President from the Healesville RSL is
a master of innuendo a conman and wannabe. Sam Halim was a Royal
Australian Air Force (RAAF) Clerk who held the rank of Flight
Sergeant on retirement. Because of his Egyptian heritage he was
occasionally employed as an Interpreter. Unfortunately his
interpretation of the truth of his service is somewhat sullied
by lies, and of a lesser quality than his Arabic interpreting
skills. In addition last ANZAC day he was found to be wearing
medals he is not entitled to.

WAUGH
Peter Ross "Muddy"
|

12 Sep 2007 |
"My name is "Muddy" to my friends, a name given
by my fellow infantry mates (GRUNTS). Because of
my stature I spent quite a bit of time in the
tunnels of south Vietnam so hence the name
." They are
the first sentences in the war memoirs of Peter
"Muddy" Waugh who decided to raise his profile
by publishing some facts about himself. At the
time, he was a member of the Taree Vietnam
Veterans Association (VVA) and
had
developed a penchant to exaggerate and downright
lie about his military service. The Taree VVA
seems to attract people of this inclination as
evidenced on our web site by other Taree VVA
members, Ken Doran, Russel Lee Jones, Graham
Stenner and James Meehan. We believe Waugh has
since resigned his membership from the Taree VVAA
.
As yet we don't know whether he
was pushed or gracefully fell on his sword. In
any case, he has left the legacy of being famous
for his "Waughy stories"

Harry Kirkman
insists that Two Hundred prisoners of war including
women, children and aged persons were gruesomely and
relentlessly tortured on the deck of HMAS
VENDETTA between the 29th November 1965
and 4th December 1965. He also insists that sometime
between 20 November 1965 and March 1966 a riot took
place near a British naval base in Singapore in
which a British serviceman was killed and crew from
HMAS Vendetta were injured. Did these
events really happen or has Harry Kirkman concocted
a "story" to enhance his war experience and gain
benefits from The Department of Veterans Affairs for
himself and others? Full

KEINZLEY Jack
|

1 Aug 2007 |
Following ANZAC day 2007 there was a lot of
confused communication between the "Shaky
Island" and ANZMI.
A
much decorated person appeared at a New Zealand
ANZAC day event claiming to be Jack Keinzley. Among
his startling array of medals, badges and trinkets
was a Purple Heart he claims was awarded to him by
the President of the USA when he "signed off" as a
US Navy SEAL
.
The
real Jack Keinzley was known to have gone to the old
soldiers home in the sky. Had he only faked his
demise, or being a famous soldier and an ex
Regimental Sergeant Major, perhaps he had been
resurrected. Read more

2005 |
Sometimes,
you run across a person who tries to be seen as a “Big Man”,
in the community, but in the case of this pretender, it would appear to be for
little reasons, because this bogus Military
Cadet Officer has an
agenda relative to children and unofficial Cadet Units
with alleged endangerment to those in his care.
He is still operating somewhere in Australia. He was forced
to move his operation through exposure for taking Cadets to the
wrong side of the border at the beginning of the Timor crisis.
Read the full story of McCarthy's background and if you have
children in his bogus cadet unit please alert the Police and Army
units in your location as he is operating without the approval of
the Australian Defence Force Cadet Corps.

We are receiving
more and more reports about senior
citizens who have been enhancing their
war service for what appears to be
almost a lifetime. Some of these old
frauds have been wandering the corridors
of RSL clubs for an eternity and who's
to say they weren't part of the hard
core heroes who derided the war service
of Vietnam Veterans and denied them
acceptance into their little circle.
Now, people who have been concerned
about these wannabes for years have a
venue to expose the lies of these old
frauds who have probably been the
cornerstones of many an organisation
since WW2 due to their "profiles"
ANZMI will expose these wannabes for
what they are, regardless of age.
World War 2 wannabe hero
Sydney Stocks volunteered himself as
patron of an Air Force Cadet unit but
fortunately an alert Staff Officer did
some background checks on him and
declined the offer. The officer found
that Stocks is an old fraud but he
wasn't aware of the depth of the
fraudulent behaviour and for how long it
had been going on. This is one occasion
that a Cadet unit got lucky in exposing
a fraud before he had the opportunity to
fill the heads of our young people with
lies, unlike some other RAAF, RAN and
Army Cadet units. See more

third "Blue Orchid" in our trilogy.
David Bain wore
an Australian Air Force Pilot brevet but he is
just another impostor involved with Air Force
Cadets. He worked his way into a high position
within the RAAF controlled organisation and was
exposed as a wannabe. He was sacked just as his
mate Keaton was and has become yet another
embarrassment to the RAAF which is still reeling
from other allegations of impropriety.

Peter Bennett, failed
truck driver, failed bank robber, failed volunteer national
serviceman masqueraded as an elite serviceman and again
failed when he was caught out. This fool, described in
the press as "the epitome of Regimental Style" turned up at
RAAF Base Williams, Point Cook, looking like what we as
servicepersons would describe as "a bag of shit tied in the
middle", not the epitome of Regimental style. We wont
note the mistakes with his uniform that would have easily
brought him undone as the wannabes who read this site may
pick up on the information, but look at the photos yourself
and see how easily it is to detect an impostor if you are a
serving or former serving member. To dress in the
manner he has, wearing the rank that he chose to impersonate
should have immediately rung alarm bells.
Servicepersons attending functions should always take note
of the dress, bearing, embellishments and medals of those
around you. We are in an age of terrorism and this
bloke could well have been one of them who infiltrated our
Defence Force, but we guess he would have failed their cadre
course as well had he applied!!! He is not very bright

William Tasman (Bill) Shaw,
Royal New Zealand Navy, was attached to United States Forces,
Mekong Delta river boat patrols during the Vietnam war. One of
Shaw's duties was that of a "Bubbly". As Navy clearance
diver; the intrepid Shaw searched for submerged mines in the
turbid waters of the Mekong Delta, he carried out this duty
under horrendous conditions to the point where he could not put
his head under the shower for fear of awakening his horrific
memories. Shaw suffered debilitating nightmares of Viet Cong
"coming at him" across the paddy fields
. To
ease his night horrors he would constantly phone welfare
officers of ex service organizations in the middle of the night
seeking help to ease the terror and anxiety of his Vietnam
memories. Bill was also a bird enthusiast, one night the Viet
Cong got into his aviary and were eating his birds, Bill soon
fixed them, he mixed up some "Napalm" and set fire to his
aviary. Next morning there were no Viet Cong found in the burnt
out wreckage of his Cairns, Queensland aviary. Read

Harry (Hal) Francis Herriott
born Wimbledon UK 1920 .
Enlisted Australian

Geraldton Western
Australia 26
April 1940.
According to Hal Herriott he
was one hell of a soldier, however his stories of daring
service on Crete in 1941 are wildly heroic and
dishonourable lies.
Herriott did not fight
against the Germans on Crete as an Infantry soldier with
the 2/11 Battalion during
May 1941 and did not fight against the Germans as a freedom
fighter for five months following the surrender of the
Battalion on or about 30 May 1941 as
claimed. As
far as we can ascertain, he was never on Crete to escape in
a fishing boat and be picked up by a submarine.
During the
greater majority of his
overseas war service he was with an Australian
Army Service Corps
Petrol Company. Judging
by his records, Herriott was a truck driver who knew how to
use a radio, no more, no less.
After receiving our request
for clarification of his service, via an intermediary he
verified his true service details as presented by us but
when asked specifically about being on Crete he replied....
"When we went
to Greece we went to Kalamia and were evacuated from there
on a Royal Navy cruiser that dropped us off at Crete, they
must have got the records wrong or assumed I came back on
another ship."

MEE Henry [Harry]

|
Henry [Harry] Mee is a Veteran in his
own right having enlisted in the Australian Regular Army [ARA] in
1965. He also claims seven years service in the Irish Army as a
Corporal and Sergeant with the service number 803100. He has
stated this on his enlistment documentation when he enlisted in
the ARA. What Henry failed to list on his documentation is
several of the medals he wears and claims from his British
service. The area for these awards to be listed on his
enlistment documentation is blank. Would a soldier who has been
awarded medals by another of the Commonwealth forces fail to
indicate his entitlement, which would also give him the right to
wear these medals on his uniform on enlistment into the Australian
Army? No. They would have taken pride of place on his chest if
he had earned them. Go here to read his full story and
how he has been busted at an AAT by the Department of Veterans
Affairs

Louis Polgar and Hendrik Winjhots are
good mates and have become known as Thelma and Louise as they do
everything together. Right down to and including concocting
fictitious active service. Both of them frequent several
Returned and Services League's in Victoria, but the following
information might just see them removed from these clubs because
of their lies about Service. Go here to see more on

NICHOLSON Roy (aka

Roy Nicholson suffered a stroke in 2004 that he says was brought
on by his Army service in Vietnam, he is unfortunately
wheelchair bound. We had to overlook Nicholson's infirmity to
present his exposure as a wannabe because many real war veterans
suffer from extreme disabilities and this individual is not
going to cash in on his. The fact was that his family and
friends were sick and tired of putting up with his antics and
lies. They believed that once he was made aware of his exposure
here on our site, he would wake up and stop.
He has been
posing as a Veteran for over thirteen years and used his tales
of heroism to win over his now estranged wife.

But
not to the standard required by Veterans. Joseph Arthur Hugh Brain,
of Bonville, NSW 2441, is a
man who is a
convicted habitual liar and fraud. He believed he
was a hero of the Vietnam war and claimed a false two week visit
to Vietnam and further claimed he was in Alpha Company 4 RAR/NZ [ANZAC]
Battalion, the last Infantry unit to serve in Vietnam. This
fool thought he was the greatest warrior of them all. He has
told stories of horrific sights he saw in Vietnam such as a US
soldier standing on a land mine and an enemy soldier
being shot through the head while he was out on patrol with the
New Zealand Victor Company and 4 RAR, but
all the time he was really at home with his wife of the time,
lying his head off to her about his SAS service and being an
Army helicopter pilot. This was wife number two of five that he
has had. One can only assume that the rest, like number two,
bolted very quickly because of his lies and threats of violence
towards them. This hero is good at abusing women and
threatening them with violence but was very cunning not to
open his mouth to any of the many veterans and CMF/Army
Reserve soldiers who had served with him,
who attended the court trial, to see him sentenced.
In-fact this gutless man could not even hold the stare he tried
on many of the servicemen in the gallery, the people he had lied and cheated
throughout his career.

Veteran Repatriation Benefits is here. Click on the link

Montgomery,
James Alwyn.
2243096.
Born 14 July 1941.
aka
Dr. or Prof. Montgomery.
Forged Citation:
MENTION IN DISPATCHES.
2243096, CAPTAIN JAMES MONTGOMERY.
Captain Montgomery
enlisted in the Australian Army Reserve in
1960 and served with 1 Commando Regiment. He
was commissioned in 1965 and served with
Special Air Service Regiment as a Reserve
Officer. He joined the Australian Army
Training Team in May 1968 for his second tour
in Vietnam.
Captain Montgomery
was two weeks short of the end of his tour
with the Training Team when, on the 11th May
1969 he was on an operational visit to the 3rd
Mobile Strike Force Battalion of the 5th
Special Forces Group that was on a search and
clear operation in Kontum province.
In a heavy contact
with the enemy, forward of the company in
which Captain Montgomery was moving, the
commander of the Mobile strike battalion was
killed and an Australian Warrant Officer and
several indigenous soldiers were wounded. In
addition, one other Australian Warrant Officer
who had been separated from the majority of
his troops was contained in the area by enemy
fire.
Without hesitation,
Captain Montgomery joined a small group under
the command of a further Australian Warrant
Officer, who was a company commander in the
battalion, and went forward to the area of
contact. While the remainder of the group
were extricating the casualties, Captain
Montgomery commenced preparation of an area
close by to enable a helicopter to winch out
the casualties.
Unable to
obtain the assistance of the indigenous
troops, who had been scattered in the
contact and who were reluctant to expose
themselves, Captain Montgomery cut and
prepared the casualty evacuation point on his
own and under enemy fire.
The helicopter
attempted to extract the serious casualties
but was forced away by heavy fire. Captain
Montgomery, with complete disregard for his
own safety, then, single handed, cleared the
enemy from the close proximity of the
evacuation point using hand grenades and small
arms fire.
This action delayed
the enemy's movement for sufficient time to
allow the remainder of the group to move out
of the immediate contact area.
On the
tedious and dangerous movement back to the
firm base with the casualties, Captain
Montgomery quietly assisted the Warrant
Officer who was in command of the group and
helped carry the wounded over the difficult
terrain.
Captain
Montgomery's personal conduct and steadying
influence were major contribution
factors in enabling the group to
extricate
the wounded and
others from the contact area.
His conduct in this
action and on a number of other occasions,
when he was serving earlier with the Mobile
Strike Force, has been exemplary.
His professionalism during his extensive
operational service has been a credit to
himself and the Australian Army Reserve.
Note:
For his role as the company commander in this
action, WO2 R. S. Simpson of 1 CDO RGT was
awarded the Victoria Cross; Captain
Montgomery was awarded the United States
Silver Cross for his role and WO2 K. R. Gill
was Mentioned in Dispatches posthumously".

a newspaper article was pinned to the notice board in their

submarines, two tours of duty in Vietnam, service in Grenada,
Panama and Somalia, retiring as a Colonel, and then serving with
the American Embassy in Canberra”. More
